WHO WE AREThe Jackson River District Partnership is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reconnecting Jackson with the Pearl River through parks, trails, ecological restoration, public access, and strategic investment. Working alongside public agencies, private partners, and community organizations, the Partnership advances projects that improve quality of life while celebrating one of Mississippi's greatest natural assets.
Riverfront Park as an Economic Catalyst
By extending Jackson's growing trail network into the River District, the project creates opportunities for adaptive reuse of industrial properties, new mixed-use development, tourism, local business investment, and expanded access to jobs and destinations by bicycle and foot. The park anchors a broader vision for revitalization that connects outdoor recreation with environmental resilience, public health, heritage tourism, and economic mobility. The project also complements the River District Connector Trail, which will transform the Commerce Street corridor into a safer, greener, and more connected public landscape linking Downtown Jackson directly to the Pearl River and Riverfront Park.
